Travel by Taxi

London taxis (or cabs) are no longer just black, some are painted in brighter colours, and many have advertisements painted on their sides. If the yellow "For Hire" sign is lit, you can either hail a cab on the street or pick it up from a taxi rank.
  • Always use a licensed taxi with a fare meter – check the back of the taxi to ensure it carries an official licence plate.
  • Tipping: As a guideline it is customary to tip taxi drivers between 10-15% of the fare
