Job Title: Head Of ICT Solutions Company Name: Highways Agency Chris has a well-earned reputation in leadership; particularly in driving strategic change, and in bringing ICT and the core business closer together. Chris is an acknowledged leader and ICT Professional experienced in working with IT departments of all sizes, in all disciplines, and in a variety of industries. His experience spans Outsourcing, Insourcing, Supplier rationalisation, rightsizing, and downsizing. Chris is well versed in using all aspects of ICT to enable business change, as well as driving efficiencies while improving service for the business; and its customers. During his time with HA he is recognised as having transformed the ICT services into a single managed service contract, delivering improved service and significant cost savings. Most recently, Chris has led in the up-skilling and capability development of retained ICT team, and is credited with the recruitment, development and professionalising of the team, with particular competency in programme/project management, business analysis and service management. During his time in the Public Sector, Chris has been a strong advocate of collaboration and knowledge – and service – sharing across government bodies. In addition to playing an active role in the development of the emerging DfT “Office of the CTO” team, he is currently NCL for the Design & Development strand of the Government IT Profession, as well as an active participant in the pan-Government x-GEA Service Delivery Domain. Chris also sits on the review panel for the Cabinet Office sponsored OGC model contract, advising on good practice and proposed changes to the exemplar. Chris’s work has been publicly recognized. His various accolades include: winner of the Computing awards for excellence “Outsource Project of the Year” (2008), finalist in the Computing/BCS individual excellence “ICT Leader of the Year” (2009), and shortlisted as Computer Weekly “Service Manager of the Year” (2008). Chris lives in Solihull. He is married with two sons. Outside of work he enjoys travelling and sport of all kinds, and is a trust member of Merthyr Tydfil Football Club, his home-town team. In addition to being qualified in ITIL and a Prince practitioner, Chris has an MBA from Aston University and an honours degree from the University of Glamorgan. He frequently speaks at both public and private events, and is passionate about business-enablement and delivery through ICT. |
