Westek Launches 6Gbit SAS Storage Systems Optimised for Virtualised Environments

Westek’s latest range of very high performance iSCSI storage systems will be on show at the 360IT Show in September.

Virtualised environments generally increase the demand on data storage systems. The latest high speed SAS interface technology provides significant advantages over current offerings by practically halving the data transfer times between disk array and raid controller and also increases processing bandwidth.

In practical terms this reduces system latency which in real world performance is a significant factor in virtualised environments where many random read/writes occur, typical of busy databases and electronic mail systems.

Using the latest enterprise class disks, a range of capacities are available including high performance reduced power 2.5” form factor SAS and high capacity 3.5” form factor.




The range includes 12, 16 and 24 bay systems, and a compact 24 bay 2.5” disk storage system ideal for high end requirements.
