CESG CHECK Accreditation Extends RandomStorm’s IT Network Security Testing Service Offer
10th May 2010, Wetherby, UK; RandomStorm the specialist network security management company has announced the addition of the Government’s CESG CHECK certification to its growing list of professional security testing accreditations. CHECK Certification means that RandomStorm is now one of a select group of UK IT security consultancies permitted to work on confidential Government and public sector systems used to process protectively marked information.
CESG is the national authority responsible for information assurance. The IT Health Check Service, or CHECK, was developed to enhance the availability and quality of the IT health check services that are provided to government in line with HMG policy. In order to achieve CHECK accreditation consultants are put through rigorous practical examinations and measured against the highest technical standards set by CESG.
RandomStorm has rapidly become one of the UK’s leading network vulnerability management companies having developed an integrated suite of products and services designed to enable businesses to monitor and manage the security of their IT networks. Established in 2006 RandomStorm has a growing national and International customer base including major enterprises as well as local government organisations and is an Approved Security Vendor under the Card Payment industry’s PCI compliance initiative.
The CHECK certification is a requirement to undertake work on any government network that includes processing officially marked confidential data as a core requirement and is also becoming a differentiating standard needed to be considered to undertake projects for major commercial organisations.
Andrew Mason, RandomStorm’s Chief Security Architect commented “The UK government is leading the way in terms of network security standards and a large proportion of our work is with public sector organisations that need to comply with Government’s Code of Connection standard in order to gain access to its national GCSx Intranet. Having CHECK is a fantastic boost for the company, enabling us to extend this work to include testing confidential systems, one of the few companies able to do so.”
The announcement comes at the end of a highly successful year for RandomStorm which has seen the company named runner-up in the Innovator10 Awards, open an additional office in Wetherby and more than double the size of its technical and business development teams.
