    Vlatka Toukalek is Head of IT Infrastructure and Support Services at  World Meteorological Organization (WMO), responsible for the delivery of cost effective, well managed and secure WMO ICT data networks (LAN and WAN), multimedia voice and system platforms and hosting services. Her responsibilities also include coordination of global ICT security and planning activities, and support to global ICT governance. Her team ensures that the technology infrastructure and services meet organizational requirements and user expectation.
    During her 20 years in the industry, she held positions of increasing responsibility in the areas of management of information and telecommunication systems, both in private and public sector. She started her career as a developer in an engineering company, worked as a researcher, professor, system analyst, network manager and service manager in various institutions and companies. Prior to joining WMO she worked for two other specialized agencies of the United Nations UNICEF and WIPO.

    She holds M.Sc degree in Electrical Engineering, is MBCS CITP, IEEE, PMI and ISACA member, has  ITIL v2 Service Manager’s Certificate (Distinction) and ITIL v3 Expert certification.

    Vlatka enjoys coaching young colleagues so they are able to professionally grow. Her current professional preoccupation is Green IT. She lives and works in Geneva, Switzerland.
