Richard HallRichard founded CloudOrigin in 2009 as an independent, pragmatic source of strategy, research and implementation advice to accelerate enterprise use of cloud computing in the public and private sectors.  Currently working with blue-chip brands, private equity firms and IT suppliers of all sizes, Richard''s 20-year+ career in IT spans energy, government, health, insurance, pharmaceuticals, police, retail and telecommunications with particular focus on investment banking trading and risk solutions.

A well known speaker on technology forecasting, IT security and e-commerce, Richard has been a member of various standards bodies and co-author of the first FpML specification for foreign exchange trading.  Formerly UK CTO and marketing director for Avanade, the global Microsoft and Accenture joint venture, he has worked on some of the world’s largest application and infrastructure solutions.  He graduated in computing and artificial intelligence from the University of Sussex, where he won a BT sponsorship in expert systems and wrote for the computing section of The Guardian.
