Seminar Details
SQL Server can be a very resource-intensive application with many transaction processing workloads demanding multiple CPUs, increasing large amounts of memory and high performance storage solutions. This session provides an overview of a recent engagement in the form of “notes from the field where the customer had requirement for a high performance, low latency database solution and had out-grown the I/O capacity of their existing SAN storage solution. During this engagement we worked with the customer to architect the new storage solution, evaluating extensions to the existing SAN storage, SSDs and ioMemory solutions. Enabling the customer to reduce the Capex/Opex for new hardware and rackspace within the datacentre, while alleviating resources off the existing SAN, which in turn extended the resource pool for other parts of the business.
