Our goal
Our strategic aim is to increase the number of women who are working and achieving in the UK’s technology profession. We are committed to helping women build successful and satisfying IT careers and since our launch in 2005 we have grown into a network of over 6,000 members.

Women working in IT
The proportion of females in the IT industry is about 20% however as women account for 50% of the UK working population, it’s evident that the technology profession is missing out on a wealth of female talent. This issue is of major importance to the IT industry – how can we attract, recruit, retain and promote more women? Clearly organisations want to recruit the best employees for the job regardless of gender but with figures showing that more women are leaving the IT profession, than joining it, IT departments need to consider all options for holding onto their female staff.

How we help companies
We work with companies to put diversity at the forefront of their recruitment policies and help them recruit more female technologists. We provide a complete recruitment service, offer a dedicated online IT job board, regularly host and co-host networking events and run career orientated training courses. Any firms looking to hire more female technologists in the UK – highlighting why they are an ideal place for a woman to have a successful technology career – should have a chat with us!

Networking events
Our networking events play a vital part in attracting (and retaining) women in the IT profession. These events range from formal debates with guest speakers and audience discussion to informal drinks evenings where people can get together in a non-work environment.

Events in 2010 have included:
