    Seminar Details

Not only has there been an information explosion, but today's businesses want it shared across the business to enable better decision making. Simon will discuss how the latest generation of BI platforms can deliver the right information, to the right place in the right format and how better visualisations, such as the coming together of BI and spatial data (maps) is driving a greater desire in the business to utilise all the information they own. He will explain why the requirement to align high-level business indicators (KPI's) to the business strategy and deliver BI that enables them not only be monitored but analysed right down to transactional data is becoming more paramount. Simon will explore the need to enable 'insight to action' through enabling BI in the business process, consequently consumption will explode. Putting all this power into the hands of users and making it easy for them to drive their own consumption will release a new generation of information consumers, but it will also place greater pressures on the underlying architectures and infrastructures required to support what is becoming a business critical area. Simon will conclude with some ideas and best practices that should be considered in planning that architecture.

When you leave this session you will:
    1. Understand why BI is becoming Pervasive and why the business values it
    2. Understand what that means for the information architecture & infrastructure
    3. Feel comfortable that the future business requirements around Business Intelligence can be delivered
